My all time favorite side. I lived in Florida for a few years and discovered recipe on the side of can. Never wrote down because it was always there. Moved back to NY, the cans up here didn’t have them. Thanks so much.

Doubled this recipe for Thanksgiving 2013, and it was a major hit; no leftovers to take home!

I don’t like yams/sweet potatoes very much at all. However, this past Thanksgiving, I discovered this recipe on the back of my Bruce’s Yams can and decided to give it a try. I am hooked! I absolutely loved this recipe and would highly recommend it to everyone. It’s a lovely contribution to your Thanksgiving/Christmas Day traditional dinner or any dinner, for that matter.

I love this recipe, but couldn’t find your cans this year at my grocery store. Can I use some other not as good yams to make this? Would you suggest tweaking the recipe at all?

  12. Tammy Benjamin says:

How many servings is one recipe? Thanks.

  13. Janay says:

How much would I increase the ingredients by if i am going to be preparing the 7lb can?

    • Ashley says:

We have not tried that in our test kitchen, Janay. I’m sorry. If you wanted more servings but wanted to follow the recipe, I would recommend simply doubling it.

Do you have the Southern Style Favorite Yams recipe calculated for a 40 oz. Yam can? I need to make more than 6 servings!

    • Ashley says:

We have not tried that in our test kitchen, Lisa. I’m sorry. If you wanted to follow the recipe exactly, I would recommend simply doubling it and using 58 ounces of sweet potatoes. I hope this helps. Happy Thanksgiving!
